Crafts

I dip into a lot of different crafts. Eventually I might make seperate pages for each one, but for now I'm dumping it all here. Here's some handy navigation to jump to specific parts of the page.

Needle Felt

My most recent craft but the one I'm most proud of and eager to keep doing. It's like a less intimidating version of clay sculpting to me. I've followed a couple artists who use felt as their main medium for a while and it's always felt accessible. Took me until October of 2025 to finally start doing it though.

My first go was sort of accidental. I wanted to just learn the material on some kinda basic animal. But the little kit I bought at Daiso didn't actually have all the materials that I thought it would. I realized what I had on hand fit pretty well with this fan mascot, called 'Pupcorn', of a vtuber I'd been aware of for a long while. So I rolled with it. Eventually I'll redo this character when I'm more skilled. Please check out Ilya Yenotka (the aforementioned vtuber) here! https://www.twitch.tv/ilyayenotka

This time I picked a very simple design I'd been a fan of for quite a while. Being essentially a single solid color let me focus entirely on getting shape right. It's verrrry slightly lopsided but it's hard to notice. The tail also helps a lot to help him stand and look proud while doing it. Observe the goblin here! https://www.twitch.tv/goblindotbest

I wrote a blog post about my whole process with this but to fill space here, I'm a big fan of this design and the versatility of it. She can fit so many vibes. It'd be sick to one day make maybe a version where I can swap the head out and show off the Eye/Mouth better. teeb doesn't stream so you'll have to check out her site here! https://teebsly.com

Machine Embroidery

I spent most of my youth in the Scouts, which has a big culture around collecting and trading patches. So I like patches a lot. Eventually I wanted to make some fan merch of Alice Sawyer. I was going to hand embroider them, but then realized my mother's sewing machine embroiders as well. Here's what I've made since starting in February of 2025.

These first three were done in a batch to test a bunch of different stuff. This one is a stylized poppy flower, which is something that's a big part of Alice Sawyer's symbology. This design appears in her pupils sometimes. I got to mess with the shape tools in Inkscape for this.

Girutea changed the Dead Kennedy's logo to be another Alice Sawyer thing. Getting the finer details to sit right took a lot of fiddling.

I had oh so cleverly asked the community for patch ideas before telling anyone that I could make them real. This one by AlienEMP was too good to not take a stab at. I used a different, premade backing material.

Next was working on making one for each of Alice's fan mascot designs. Later on I refined one so I could hand them out when we met at Offkai.

Miscellaneous

A few more things that are either one offs or are further back on list.

Alice Sawyer debuted a new design on Halloween 2024, but she worked on the concepts some on stream beforehand. I saw this ceremonial dagger in there and thought "Wait I could totally make that". So I did and was able to show it off the same day as the new outfit.
